Venezuelan Violinist Gabriela Lara began her music studies at the age of 8. Ms. Lara was a member of the Latin American Violin Academy as a student of Jose Francisco del Castillo and Francisco Diaz and a member of “El Sistema” in Venezuela, where she served as a Concertmaster of the Lara Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Venezuela in 2017.
Gabriela Lara toured with the National Children Orchestra of Venezuela in 2013, with the Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra in 2014, the Simon Bolivar Orchestra of Venezuela and the National Children Chamber Orchestra of Venezuela in 2016, performing in prestigious European festivals and concert halls including the Salzburg Festival, and the Berlin Philharmoniker.
Ms. Lara has worked with world -renowned conductors including Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Simon Rattle, Diego Matheuz, Christoph Koncz, and Christian Vazquez. She has performed as a soloist with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, Lara Youth Symphony Orchestra, Lara Symphony Orchestra, Caracas Symphony Orchestra, and Miranda Youth Orchestra in the “Centro de Accion Social por la Musica” in Venezuela and received a recognition by the Legislative Council of the Municipality Jimenez in 2011.
Ms. Lara has performed in masterclasses for Ilya Kaler, Ray Chen, Uto Ughi, and Midori. She won the 2019 Concerto Competition at Roosevelt University and the III International Violin Competition in homage to Maestro Frank Preuss, in addition to winning 2nd place at the 2022 Sphinx Solo Competition. She is currently part of the studio of Almita Vamos at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
